I use to play Gold & Silver for the GBC a long time ago, so I don’t remember much about what all happened in that version, so this new 3D-layout version is very interesting ^.^
For me there is one reason why HearGold wasnt as good as i had hoped. Its not that the Elite four is at a low level (and so are you) the first time around, its the fact that it takes an age just to get your pokemon to any decent level. The wild pokemon dont seem to give much exp, and there is no vs seeker. Their is the phone, but what good is that if no body rings for a rematch?
Also their isnt many Johto pokemon i really like, except Typhlosion and Espeon. I have them both but, i didnt bother to check their natures before i saved, so both have fail natures (impish if i remember right, for both of them). My only decent one isnt even from Johto, i traded over a Gible from Platinum.
But, atleast i can get Kyogre… eventually.
I got SoulSilver back when it came out. Ended up beating it in three days of nonstop gaming, so now I’m just evolving stuff. I agree that the leveling up is an issue, it’s been a month since I started training my Magnemite and it’s still not evolved. Poor MAGNETFACE runs out of PP long before he grows a level, so there’s a lot of Pokemon Center runs to get more PP.
Really love the ability to play the 8bit tracks though, for srs. I’ve actually sat there in the Pokemon Center with the GBPlayer just to listen to the music. ^^
Atleast there is some event pokes on the go for HG/SS… Other than that, Kyogre would be the only thing i would play the game to achieve, which i can catch on Saphire anyway, which i find more enjoyable.
