Gosh, am I so tired of hearing about this. Seriously, leave the interwebs the heck allow you mean government!
Anywhoo, I would’ve TOTALLY forget about this stupid attempt at passing a law. But now I hear that they haven’t actually turned it down and are really turning it down, I’m a raging fit. Especially because there will be a huge “blackout” tommorow, between 8 A.M EST and 8 P.M EST, people are supposed to not log on their computers.
So WHY is this bill such a big deal? I’m pretty sure it doesn’t affect anyone outside of the U.S, but not positive. But most of the PMU Staff is inside the U.S and this could seriously affect our game and site. It also FORCES Youtube, Google, Facebook to be wary of what you post, not only are you being STALKED by the government, but you are also losing rights here.
This seriously means: no more MMOs, which means no PMU. No more cool avatars or pictures from Video Games. No more free music from Youtube, or the right to draw or write about any character aside from your own on sites like DeviantART and Fanfiction will be competely taken off the scales.
It’s basically in short: controlling the users of the interwebs, and maintaining “morality”. Trust me, if you worried about morality, then why are you online right now?
Anyway. There’s a HUGE strike tommorow (Wednesday, January 17th, 2012), in which sites such as Wikipedia, Google, and Reddit will be “blacking out” or going offline for about ten to twelve hours TOMMOROW. So yup…
Good news is that lucky for US, almost NO major game companies agree. Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Nintendo of America, Sony Computer Entertainment America, Capcom USA, Sega of America, THQ, and more than two dozen other companies! That’s great news! Right?
Anyway, this post was just to tell you guys what the heck is going on here. I’m asking you guys to try to AT LEAST supports the idea AGAINST it, even if you don’t join the strike. Or at least spread the word or something! Thanks!
