A board of events!

Hello~

I think that PMU should have a board that shows events and stuff such as Tourneys, Shops, TC Dragging Partys etc. It could be useful for some people if they’re looking for something such as those things i just said.

Where is it?
I think it should be next to the Mission Board.

How do we put an event on it?
There should be a button saying “post event” when you go check out the board.
You have to fill in details such as:
What is the event
Where is it
What time (optional)
What to bring (optional)
and yeah, thats pretty much it.

So what you think

though thats a well thought out idea i dont agree. we have the forums to post those kinds of things in the events area.

Well yes, but you are aware that many people do not have access to forums? Reasons may be whatever (it’s their personal matter after all) they cannot post on forums. Yes, they can ask other people to post it, but I actually like this idea. It’ll be easier, and more convenient to simply go to the board and read whatever is currently happening. One more thing, the forums does not always have people who are currently playing actively. Plus, people online in-game is usually more as compared to people on forums.

Basically, the point is to capture the attention of most people, which this idea is doing (or so I have assumed) Replies on forums take comparatively more time, and if you are doing a run in any dungeon, it’s usually for one or two hours, and by the time people read it, you’ve probably finished the run; hence the board idea is very applicable. I’d like to know more about it Abra, it’s interesting.

Nice idea. Though I do not think this is needed…

The thing is, these stuff are usually plonked on the forums… and as Erlade said though, some people are not on the forums.

Reply to Erlade:
I understand what you’re trying to say, but just because there is some members not on the forums, I don’t think it will help it being in game. (no offence)

The reason it’s on the forums is because it’s all a social community - where everybody can see what it is. I understand you can do the same thing on the game though. But if members are to lazy to join the forums; it’s there loss.

I think that’s all I kind of got to say.
Sorry if that sounded a little mean, just telling the truth in my eyes.

Well, firstly, we need to understand that none of the suggestions are “needed” they are “wanted”. The game can still work properly without them having to be in condition to make it accessible. The suggestions thread has been lined up with suggestions whether accepted or rejected. None of those things are needed, or required actually. Only to enhance gaming experience. Also, it’s just one person’s idea of how the game can be improved or an idea that hits them.

Hmmmm, yes. But suggestions are accepted as well? There have been countless instances when suggestions or appeal made my players have been taken into consideration by staff. It may also we known that the interests of “forum-users” may differ from “online-games” the market demand of people is slightly different.

Several forum-users are different from online gamers, no reason not to encourage new ideas. Being lazy isn’t the only reason why people aren’t on the forums. They may have personal issues or whatever as well. I became frequent on the forums, before that I was not able to come on the forums, for whatever reason. I believe there are other people too, like me still in that phase. However, I still get your point. Though I agree this may not be needed, it is still a very well thought out idea. Sorry if that sounded mean, Sharky c;

It’s a nice idea, though could be unneeded. Do they not announce events in the activity log once you open PMU? And isn’t it enough if people just go into global and announce their shop/going to Tanren Caverns? I could see how it would lessen Global Spam, but I still don’t think it’s quite needed.

Though, even if it’s unneeded, it really sounds like a fun idea! Announcing a Pokémon Challenge like “Itemless Run of Mt. Skylift: Help Wanted” or something like that would be quite exciting. Though, the problem is that the time insert. If you put in a time, there would be problems with changing the time for other people in different time zones. So you could put 10:00, but it might be 13:00 somewhere else.

Also, I could see how this may worry staff. Since they want to maintain a safer community, this may cause problems as people could post an event with a bunch of curse words or something completely irrelevant to the game. So that’s why it might be a little frowned upon, so I will approve if restrictions are placed.

Well, firstly, typing stuff on global takes pretty long if your just spamming “Looking for TC Party!” While you can just go to the board and look through a bunch of stuff.

Secondly, the time… is optional, The TC run could be like ‘Right Now’ and stuff though if its a tourney that’s at a later time, it would be EST time and you can go onto Google and convert EST to your time.

Lastly, I do see the point of that and i was thinking of how to not do that, I think there should be like a report button of who did it, or to make it easier, just put like What Dungeon, How many people needed etc.

This really sparks my interest…

For minor things like training parties or HT/TC runs, it would be wonderful, instead of Global spam.

But wouldn’t the board have spam? Fake entries could be made, or someone could spam it. Also, what happens if there are tons of party requests, like during Easter HC? How many messages could there be on it?

A good idea, but I’m afraid I’ll have to disagree.
First of all, trolls could go to said board and fill it up with their events, which might cause lag.
And secondly, staff can’t exactly monitor the events 24/7, so people could put profanity there and they won’t even know who posted said event.

Why not have preset options to choose from to make a message?

Ex:

Dungeon Name - Level Range - ect ect ect.

Yep, pretty much what Ren said. There’s always a way to get around things. This is why we should always listen to what others have to say and encourage their ideas, to bring out the best of them. ^-^
