Surf

I think surf should not hit allies. if moves like discharge and blizzard don’t hit allies I think Surf is one of a few more moves that shouldn’t hit allies.

No, because in the regular games Surf hit allies.
Why, should that change?
Some of us like killing people in dungeons to y’know–

new idea about surf: I think surf should be a 3 tile AoE. it is overused and 5 tiles seems a bit much for an HM.
idk if AoE spammers would like this but I think 3 tiles would be more logical.

Just a question, how does Surf as a 3-tile seem logical? Since, to my understanding, Surf is a tidal wave, and tidal waves don’t have small areas of effect.

I find surf fine as is.
It seems fairly balanced for dungeons. It’s good for soloing if you get stuck in a monster house while its downside of killing team members keeps it from being OP.

Then again, I don’t partake in PvP to I don’t have a say on that front.

My question is, why does a move have to be held back just because it’s an HM?

Surf is perfectly fine. Yes, when I take my Floatzel, Kiva, I do use Surf a lot. But Surf has only 18 PP. And so WHAT if it’s overused? It’s a HM! No duh you’ll be using it! And the strongest move said Pokemon has is overused as well, so why don’t we change THOSE moves? Overusage is not a good reason to change a perfectly fine move that has followed the original PMD games. Unless there’s a logical reason that will make it seem more like, well, a giant tidal wave/Surf, then a change wouldn’t be needed.

It’s just as Super said. A perfectly good move does not need to change.

in others games it was only 1 tile attack> would you prefer that or 3 tile AoE?

Surf is a ROOM Clearer in PMD actually, Just like Muddy Water.
And most moves in PMD are only 1 tile, due to being Turn Based.
Surf is fine how it is, There is no need for a Nerf.
