Considerations - last logged off.

I’m not fully sure how many statistics staff have, but here are some bits of thought for your game’s development.

  1. The Mission Board is a very strong way to get people to log in every day, and yet it’s agonizingly under utilized. Seriously, it could be the most part of the game (and is in fact one the main factors -barring recruiting- that keeps people playing in the handhelds.) Have you considered redoing the mission board to be a stronger upgrade system? Check the boards, get a mission for a new dungeon! For every mission you complete, a new mission fills its place on the board! Or…well, something. Missions make grinding simply less painful or even enjoyable when they’re used properly. It’s extremely frustrating to have, say, rank A missions but only have “E” ranks available on the board. Then you have to wait and wait just to get another mission at all.

Perhaps it would be better to allow more missions maximum and let the user filter by rank? It’d be easy to adjust the points they give upon completion, to not make silver/gold/etc too easy to get.

  1. I don’t know if you’ve already done this, but it’d be helpful for your planning phases to go through and see exactly where accounts that have been inactive for over a year last logged in. What is their highest level? What dungeons did they clear? What map did they last log off on? This would help you retain your potential community. I see people join all the time, only to never be seen again after the first day. Where are you losing them? At what point does the game stop becoming fun for a majority of people? How can you keep them? This would help you smooth out the rough parts of your game and maybe see where PMU becomes stale or simply frustrating.

After asking and asking how you guys work for the past year, I realize you probably have an…odd choice of development methods, so some of this may be harder than I’m assuming. Still, give it a shot for me, if ya would. It’d be much appreciated, and I bet you wouldn’t regret it. :>:D:

Cheers.
