PMU Holidays Tournament(Gen 6 Not Fully Evolved/NFE)!

Hey everybody! I am here to announce about the next tournament that will be happening very soon! This will be the Gen 6 Not Fully Evolved(NFE) Tournament hosted by the Tournament Host Group! Not Fully Evolved or commonly known as NFE, means pokémon that have evolved once, and can evolve again but have not. Examples would include Poliwhirl, Pikachu, and Boldore. (Before I continue, let me just point out that since Gen 7 pokémon and mechanics have not been implemented yet into the game, we are going with Gen 6 because we are up to date with Gen 6 mechanics). Everything you need to know will be posted below in different sections!

MOST IMPORTANT: The Tournament will be happening on December 10th at 1-2 PM EST(Don’t be afraid to ask others what time this will be, people would be glad to help)! So make sure that you get your stuff prepared BEFORE this tourney starts!

ANOTHER IMPORTANT PART: Sign-Ups for this tournament will last until December 8th in the afternoon(probably around 4-5 PM EST)! So make sure if you want to be a participant/sub, MAKE SURE TO SIGN-UP BEFORE THIS END TIME, ANY LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE TAKEN! This is so after sign-ups closed, we can get the brackets for the arena/arenas set-up and posted before the day of the tournament!

YET ANOTHER IMPORTANT PART: If you have any questions, please contact any of the individuals who helped get this tournament put together(refer to the credits for this)! We’ll have our discords as well as you can contact us in-game as well!

Now, for Gen 6 Not Fully Evolved(NFE), here are the Pokémon that are allowed to be used:

Obtainable (both current and event-exclusive) Pokémon:

Ivysaur, Charmeleon, Wartortle, Metapod, Kakuna, Pidgeotto, Pikachu, Nidorina, Nidorino, Golbat, Gloom, Poliwhirl, Kadabra, Machoke, Weepinbell, Graveler, Haunter, Rhydon, Chansey, Seadra, Electabuzz, Magmar, Dragonair, Bayleef, Quilava, Croconaw, Togetic, Flaaffy, Marill, Skiploom, Piloswine, Porygon-2, Pupitar, Marshtomp, Silcoon, Cascoon, Lombre, Nuzleaf, Kirlia, Vigoroth, Loudred, Lairon, Roselia, Vibrava, Dusclops, Sealeo, Shelgon, Metang, Grotle, Monferno, Prinplup, Staravia, Luxio, Gabite(Event/Auction Exclusive), Servine, Pignite, Dewott, Herdier(Event Exclusive), Tranquill, Boldore, Gurdurr, Palpitoad, Swadloon, Krokorok, Duosion, Vanillish, Klang, Eelektrik, Fraxure, Zweilous, Quilladin, Braixen(Event/Auction Exclusive), Frogadier, Fletchinder, Spewpa, and Doublade.

There are a few pokémon that are also in Gen 6 Not Fully Evolved, but they are banned due to their abilities. Here are some of the banned pokémon and banned abilities:

Banned Abilities List:

-Cute Charm(This causes the enemy Pokémon to become infatuated if they are the opposite gender at a chance, causing the enemy to not be able to move for a few turns, and we want players to be able to move at all times and not basically be a free kill for the opponent)
-Gooey(This causes the enemy Pokémon who attacked in a certain radius to have their movement speed lowered by 1 stage, this is banned because we want players to be able to move at regular speed the whole time and not be easily kited on)
-Magnet Pull(Steel-typed opponents can’t move for at least 3+ turns, counts as immobilization)
-Speed Boost(This is because you get an extra level of movement speed, making it easier to kite moves as well as free fast healing and it can be used to stall)
-Unburden(You get an attack speed boost, causing you to be able to hitstun you opponent and outdamage them faster because no items are allowed)

With these banned abilites, these are the pokémon that have been banned:

Banned Pokemon List:

-Clefairy(Cute Charm as a regular ability)
-Jigglypuff(Cute Charm as a regular ability)
-Magneton(Magnet Pull as a regular ability)
-Grovyle(Unburden as a hidden ability)
-Combusken(Speed Boost as a hidden ability)
-Whirlipede(Speed Boost as a hidden ability)
-Sliggoo(Gooey as a hidden ability)

Now that the pokémon allowed, banned pokémon and banned abilities are out of the way, lets get to the rules! Here are the rules for the tournament:

Rules for this Tournament:

-2 Pokemon per participant
-2 minutes per round, then sudden death will start(the next Pokémon that faints is the winner, so long as both competitors have the same amount of pokémon left. So if one player has 2 pokémon left while the other player has 1, and then 2 minutes are up, the player with 2 Pokémon wins as they have more left, if both players have 2 pokémon left each or 1 Pokémon left each, the next one to faints loses)
-Banned pokémon, abilities, and moves are listed within this post(Banned abilities and banned pokémon are above, banned moves are below)
-No switching, the 2nd pokémon you want to use must be the leader
-No moves that have an effect(not counting stat drops/increases because the arenas will stop this) above a 30% chance(moves will be listed under the banned moves list)
-No Trapping Moves
-No OHKO(One Hit Knock Out) moves
-No Damage Reflection moves(Destiny Bond, Counter, Mirror Coat, Metal Burst)
-No status moves(Moves like attract, sleep powder, toxic, etc, some of which will be listed in the banned moves below)
-No HP Healing Moves(These moves will also be listed in the banned moves list below)
-No Items allowed
-Once a pokémon of either player has been defeated, both must stand still or switch, and will be moved to opposite sides of the arena, to start a new round fairly, instead of getting easy advantages with close range proximity to start(Last tournament this was not enforced well or at all, and this time it WILL be enforced. If one person’s pokémon faints, DO NOT MOVE. If you move and heal, you will be be hit to lose some health to what you healed. If you do this a second time, NO MATTER WHAT ROUND THE TOURNAMENT IS ON, you will be disqualified, no exceptions as you’ve already been warned once).
-Players who sign up as a competitor and not a sub, may NOT come back as a sub. Once you have participated, if you have lost, that is the only chance you will get. No second chance by becoming a sub.
-Players may not be allowed to enter the arena unless they are told to do so. If the player enters 2 times, heres how it will go down:

~1st time will be a strict warning, for participants and subs this will be the only warning you get.
~2nd time, participants will be disqualified from their match, resulting in a loss for them and a win for their opponent, subs will lose their chance at being a sub, and others(spectators) will be dealt in other ways.

-No AoEs above a 2-tile range(These moves will be listed below)
-No Arc or Spray moves above a 3 tile range(These moves will be listed below)
-If there are more than enough participants, there will be 2 arenas that will help get matches done faster
-No 2 turn moves such as Fly or Dig that give you an invulnerable state, as they can be used to stall and give one player a free advantage to heal(These will be listed below)
-Weather Moves are banned(Hail, Sunny Day, etc. These will be listed below)
-Displacement Moves(U-Turn, Dragon Tail, etc. These will be listed below) are banned
-No Protection Moves allowed(Protect, Detect, King’s Shield etc. These will be listed below)

Alright, now lets get the banned moves listed! The banned moves are as follows with their reason as to why they are banned:

Banned Moves List:

Before I list, let me make a few notes here:

-Regarding Chansey and Togetic, who get Serene Grace as an ability. We are allowing them to be used, so long as you use moves that wouldn’t go above 20% of a secondary effect. This is because if we allowed you to use every allowed move, things like air slash and rock slide would have higher than 30% chance to have their secondary effect happen, thus being banned. Only use moves with a 10% or lower chance of a secondary effect if you decide to use these two pokemon. Must stay within usable range as well otherwise consequences will happen. Ask one of the people who helped this tournament if you have an questions!

-Regarding Fletchinder with Gale Wings, so long as you use Flying moves that stay within the allowed ranges, we are allowing this pokemon.

-Regarding Croconaw and Gurdurr, who get Sheer Force, they are allowed to use moves that have over the 30% chance of a secondary effect because that secondary effect won’t happen thanks to what Sheer Force does. Anything besides these two must stay within the ruleset of moves of whats allowed and what isn’t. HOWEVER, Croconaw and Gurdurr MUST STAY within the range limit as well for moves, if caught consequences will happen!

Now, it may seem as if there aren’t too many prizes… Well, thanks to the idea of Ankoku Flare/Flare, we have a system we agreed on called the unlock system where if we get enough participants(participants will include BOTH competitors AND subs, but will not include spectators since the spectators are mainly there to watch and can point out banned moves like others can, but don’t really get involved with the tournament. Subs are there ready to go to replace somebody if necessary, which is why they are included), there will be more prizes “unlocked” for the prize pool! It won’t be just the number of event tokens going up, special prizes will also be added to each prize tier if certain amounts are reached! Here is how the unlock system will happen:

Unlock System:

If there are 25 participants for the event or under:

First Place: 8 Event Tokens
Second Place: 5 Event Tokens
Third Place: 3 Event Tokens
Participation Tokens: 1 Event Token

If there are between 26 and 50 participants for the event:

First Place: 10 Event Tokens + new musical item or old musical item of choice
Second Place: 7 Event Tokens + old musical item of choice
Third Place: 5 Event Tokens + random musical item
Participation Tokens: 2 Event Tokens

If there are between 51 and 100 Participants for the event:

First Place: 10 Event Tokens + new musical item or old musical item of choice+ Legendary costume of choice(new or old)
Second Place: 7 Event Tokens + old musical item of choice+ old legend costume item of choice
Third Place: 5 Event Tokens random musical item + random legend costume item
Participation Tokens: 3 Event Tokens

There may be a few questions that would come up from this(such as what differentiates an old music item from a new music item? As well as what differentiates an old legend costume from a new legendary costume?), and the answers are below:

 1. An old Musical Item would classify as any of the Harmonic Tower End Box items, examples being the Fiery Drum and the Sky Melodica, while new musical items would include the aether/skull music items as well as stuff like the conch shell!
 2. Old legendary costumes would classify as the mystery hats that can change you into stuff like Jirachi and Shaymin, while new legendary costumes classify as things such as the Giratina Crown, Yveltal Crown, Azelf Hood, etc.

Count for the Unlock System:

Total Participants: 16

Sign-Ups are NOW CLOSED!

Now, here is what you need to do if you wish to participate:

Subs will also come in if we maybe need 1 or two more players to even the brackets out more. Subs are expected to be right there are the start of the tournament just like participants/competitors. However, if you sub once, you may NOT sub again, you get one chance at subbing, and if you lose, that is it. The QUICKER you sign up as a sub(the lower your number is), you will have a higher priority of being called up to sub. We ALSO will make a call around the time of the tournament starting that if you want to be a substitute, make sure you are ready and know the rules well! You can only volunteer to be a sub if you are ready to go, know the rules, and volunteer RIGHT as we ask if anyone wants to be a sub incase we need it.

Thank you for reading everything(hopefully)! Hopefully we get a lot of people to be involved into the tournament and get it hyped up! Hopefully everyone has fun with this event! However, I alone did not make this tournament! I do have credits that will be given out:
