on the bottom of a post loads of people have an image at the bottom of every their post. what is it called and how do i add my own

when i managed to get to the signature screen where you add your signature but where do i add the image when i go to copy and paste it doesnt let me paste and when i goto copy image location it shows the web address and to view the image you have to click it but i dont want that i just want it toi stay there
